Watch Don't Trust the B- In Apartment 23 Season 2 Episode 11 Dating Games Online Free Stream HD Youtube Video 2x11 When I saw the previews, I wasn't optimistic. "Just another cash-in on
the success of 2 Broke Girls..." I said. But while 2 Broke Girls is
hackneyed, corny and forced, Don't Trust the B---- in Apt. 23 turned
out to be a smart, sweet, and VERY funny show! The plot centers on June
and Chloe, two girls that could not be more different. June is sweet,
naive, and believes completely in planning your life out. Chloe is
cold, amoral and believes in living only in the moment.
The twist comes when both of these girls turn out to be so much more than your stereotypical odd couple. June is naive to be sure, but she's also bright and strong. Chloe is a borderline sociopath, but she has a heart and is admirably accepting and honest about her personality.
Krysten Ritter, in a complete turnaround from her acclaimed arc on Breaking Bad, is undoubtedly the heart of the show. And what a great heart she is. Only a really great actress could make a character like Chloe lovable, and Ritter not only makes her lovable, she makes her identifiable.
Then there are the supporting characters: the creepy girl who lives down the hall, the sexual deviant who lives next door, the man who would have been June's mentor... all of these characters could have been empty and soulless (not unlike the supporting characters on 2 Broke Girls) but with great writing and acting, they become important parts of the show and offer insight and wisdom when the girls need it.
And then... James Van Der Beek. I was never a Dawson fan, but here, Van Der Beek follows in the vein of Neil Patrick Harris in Harold & Kumar and satirizes his own persona while still having a fun time and actually bringing a lot to the table.
The writing is wonderful. Apparently one of the people working on this show used to work for American Dad, and it shows in the best way. The humor is quick and fast, but still smart and fun. The cast obviously has great material to work with, and thanks to the talent involved, it is milked for all it has. And most of all, there is NO LAUGH TRACK. The people involved obviously knew they were dealing with grade A material, and your own laughs at home are enough.
